The Value of Water Book by Donna Vincent Roa and The Value of Water Coalition has been named a Finalist in the Current Event/Social Change category of the 2015 Next Generation Indie Book Awards, the largest not-for-profit book awards program for independent publishers and self-published authors.
Judged by leaders of the indie book publishing industry, including many coming from long-standing careers with major publishing houses, the awards program is known as “the ‘Sundance’ of the book publishing world,” according to Catherine Goulet, Chair of the 2015 Next Generation Indie Book Awards program.
“The Value of Water” book features 40 essays from industry leading U.S. organizations, including American Water, DC Water, GE Power & Water, Kohler, Hillsborough County Public Utilities Department, National Association of Water Companies, Xylem Inc., and United Water, among many others. The essays inform the conversation about water’s future, show that the “business as usual” approach to our limited water resources needs to change, and demonstrate how water can pose a threat to economic growth, reputation, and profit margins, in addition to creating value and business opportunities.
“The thoughtful and provocative CEO essays probe complex issues and provide a unique look inside the world of water,” Roa said. “The book addresses how we can educate the public on the critical role of water infrastructure and the value of water, the role of technology and innovation, the water ‘utility of the future,’ and a range of topics that will allow readers to rethink how they use water in their daily business and personal lives.”
The achievement is published at www.IndieBookAwards.com along with the other Finalists and Winners. The Value of Water book, was listed as a Finalist in the 2015 Next Generation Indie Book Awards online catalog, and was included in the brochure given out at the Book Expo America (“BEA”) in New York at the BEA registration desks to thousands of attendees including book buyers, library representatives, media, industry professionals, and others.
